The 2025 NAATSIHWP Professional Development Symposium, ' Investing in our Workforce ' is happening at the Darwin Convention Centre on Larrakia Country, Northern Territory from 15 to 17 September 2025!
A strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker and Health Practitioner Workforce is a powerful driver of sustainable outcomes in health, education, and employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. While there have been many efforts to grow and strengthen our Workforce, a long-term, systems-wide approach has yet to be prioritised.
For over a century our workforce has cemented themselves as critical to front line efforts to protect their communities. Evidence now consistently demonstrates how strong and effective health services can be when they work collaboratively and employ our people. The 2025 Symposium provides a significant opportunity to harness the deadly skills of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners.
Held over two days, our FULL and STUDENT members will participate in a series of workshops and sessions focused on cutting-edge clinical and primary healthcare practices, while further enhancing their knowledge and skills to respond to the evolving needs of our community and advancements in healthcare.
